Emmerentia Du Plessis, professor in advanced mental health/psychiatric nursing at North-West University, South Africa, has set up a website on Caring Presence. She believes that Presence can make a huge difference in the practice of nursing, for patients as well as nurses. She started a YouTube channel in order to spread the word about Presence. She has interviewed nurses in practice, nurse leaders, nurse students and nurse educators on presence and what it means to their work.
Staff members of the Presence Foundation in The Netherlands were also interviewed by Emmerentia. Elly Beurskens, Staff Member for Education at the Presence Foundation, explains why ‘inquiry’ is such an important part of teaching Presence.
